I have come to the conclusion that some cultures and religions are sadomasochistic. Usually these cultures and countries are associated with despotic rulers and governments. For example, most of eastern Europe and Russia falls under this category. The same is true with China and Islamic countries and the religion of Islam.
I came to the above conclusion based on my interactions with eastern Europeans and Russians and also from my interacting with Pakistanis and Arabians. In these places it is always the might that determines what is right. Spirituality is associated by these people with a despotic monotheistic God. The culture of oppressing weak is pervasive in these places. The rule of democracy is laughed upon.
